I have specialized in adult mental health for over a decade. I am a registered social worker in the province of Ontario and an ICEEFT Certified Emotionally Focused Therapist (www.iceeft.com).
I have extensive prior experience providing psychotherapy services to post secondary students at Queen’s University and Wilfrid Laurier University. While at Queen’s, I wrote a guided journal (“Just as I am: The Practice of Self-Care and Compassion”) designed to help students return to self-love and acceptance. Previously, I co-directed a group therapy program for adults living with addiction and mental illness in Washington, DC. During my graduate training, I worked at the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre and counseled adults at a local community health centre. My graduate research focused on the experiences of families navigating the psychiatric hospital system in Ottawa, Ontario.
I am a registered member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (#821266) and a member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers.
I live in Waterloo, Ontario with my partner, Stephen, and our two young children. I care for myself by spending time with close friends, singing in an a cappella chorus, and practicing Vipassana meditation.
